At the February meeting of the Chemung County Legislature, the Consolidated Urban Highway Services Area (CUHSA) Shared Services Agreement was approved.
The County entered into an agreement with the City of Elmira, the Town of Elmira, the Town of Horseheads, the Village of Horseheads and the Village of Emira Heights to further implement the highway shared services initiative.
Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli stated: “It is my hope this is but the next step in continued cooperation leading to additional shared services opportunities within the municipalities of Chemung County in regards to highway services. The agreement lays the groudwork for further collaboration with the goal of maintaining quality services while lowering delivery costs and saving taxpayer dollars. Chemung County is making real progress towards consolidation of a variety of services in a more efficient and effective manner.”
