In what is to become a yearly report to the 15th district and the community, Chemung County Legislator Rodney J. Strange detailed where his legislative pay was spent during 2011.
Strange has stated in the past that he did not seek the legislative seat for the annual salary he recieves from the county.
During 2011, a county legislator received $12,652. In 2012, the pay will be $13,034. “I believe that serving the people of the 15th district is an honor and privilege and one that I take very seriously. The salary that I am paid by county taxpayers is not the reason I sought this position. During 2011, I used my pay to provide constituent services, for communicating with district residents, and to support local events and organizations. In 2012 will continue to use my legislative salary to reach out to my constituents, stay in touch with them, and support organizations and sponsor events in the community.”
