Earlier this spring, 15th District Legislator Rodney J. Strange secured funding from the county’s Small Projects Fund to purchase ten new picnic tables for the Town of Ashland.
The tables replaced those that were in deteriorating condition at Toll Bridge Park and Fred Roberts Pavillion in the Town of Ashland located on county route 8 at the Lowman Crossover.
The Small Projects Fund is money from the Casella Waste Management agreement negotiated between Casella and Chemung County in 2010.
The cost of the tables was approximately $3,200.00 with the Chemung County Buildings and Grounds Department providing the labor of putting the tables together.
