The Chemung County Legislature passed a resolution commending Chemung County municipalities for the passage of “Right to Farm” local laws by all municipalities within Chemung County.
Agricultural production is an important segment of the Chemung County economy and the preservation of agriculture preserves open spaces and maintains the rural character so important to the quality of life in Chemung County.
The right of agricultural operators to pursue customary agricultural operations within Chemung County should be recognized by the neighbors, municipalities, and the general public.
“The make-up of the 15th Legislative District includes many family farms and I am proud to have supported this resolution”, said Rodney J. Strange the Legislator from the 15th District.
