“I am proud to stand with our Elmira Police Officers as they fight the possible layoffs in their ranks. The most important job government can do for it’s citizens is to protect them from harm and make them feel safe in their community. I don’t know of anyone who feels safe in Elmira. We need our police now more than ever. This isn’t politics, it’s common sense. As a County Legislator my support, commitment and loyalty to the men and women of the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office is well documented and on record. I will always fight for our men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve us. As elected officials, that is what our law enforcement officers should expect from us and that is what they deserve.”
