Now that the 2026 state legislative session has begun, we must renew our fight for an investigation into these two public utilities. We began this effort almost a year ago and very little has happened to date except bills continue to be excessively high and issues continue to occur in all areas that we are asking for our investigation to examine.
It is clear that people don’t trust NYSEG and RG&E and they have no faith in the NYS Public Service Commission. What needs to happen is for the State Legislature to conduct a Bipartisan, Comprehensive, Independent Investigation into the many issues that have arisen over the past several months with NYSEG and RG&E. We are making progress. State Senator Peter Oberacker has called for and demanded that the state legislature conduct such an investigation. We need to keep the pressure up on the other state legislators to do the same! We need answers to: Billing Practices, Operating Procedures, Electric Costs, Delivery Costs, Supply Charges, Smart Meters and all other issues associated with the many problems brought to light by customers around the state. This has to be the focus, because nothing has happened since these problems started and there is no solution in sight. Join me in calling for this investigation by contacting your State Senator and Assembly Member and demanding them to get to work to solve this problem that is financially crippling all of us in New York State. An Independent Investigation is the ONLY way to get to the bottom of these issues.
