Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli and Building and Grounds Superintendent Bob Dieterle are pleased to announcing the opening of the “Boundless Playground” at Harris Hill.

The Boundless Playground is the first full ADA accessible design in all of Chemung County. The new structure allows an inclusive play environment for children of all abilities to play together. “This new play structure offers an extensive ramping system, which allows people using mobility devices to have full access to the playground,” says Santulli.

This project would not have been possible without support from The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning, the Anderson Foundation and GameTime Playground Equipment.

The original playground at Harris Hill was built in 1970 and was in need of full replacement. The Chemung County Buildings and Ground Department and Parks and Recreation Department starting putting together the new playground in April. It opened Memorial Day weekend.
