Starting in April 2018, United Airlines will make direct flights to the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) two times a day.

“The Chemung County community is very excited United Airlines will be coming to the Elmira Corning Regional Airport to provide nonstop jet service to Newark Liberty International Airport. This is especially good news to both our passengers who fly for business or pleasure. This announcement comes as we complete at $14 million airfield upgrade and construct our new $58 million terminal.  It’s important to note that the business community played a vital role in attracting United and we couldn’t have done it without their participation,” says Thomas J. Santulli, Chemung County Executive.

Flights will begin April 9, 2018 but you can now make reservations online. Flights will depart from the Elmira Corning Regional Airport at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Flights will depart from Newark Liberty at 4:00 PM and 9:00PM. Flights will be approximately an hour and 25 minutes.

“The announcement of United Airlines service between Elmira Corning Regional Airport and Newark Liberty Airport is an exciting addition to an already exciting era. When considering the present services by Delta and Allegiant, adding United to the mix gives Elmira Corning Regional Airport the most complete and most unique offerings to air travelers to and from the Twin Tiers and Southern Finger Lakes,” says Bill Hopper, Director of Aviation at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport.

“This is a major addition for air travel in and out of Elmira Corning Regional Airport,” Legislator Rodney J. Strange said  “The new terminal that is being constructed and airport improvements already finished, will make our airport the only regional airport of the future. The economic impact on the county will be tremendous,” Strange said.

“The service that United Airlines will provide is a tremendous benefit for the Greater Corning-Elmira region because it offers more options for leisure and business travelers. More access to overseas destinations will be particularly helpful to Corning Incorporated employees who live abroad, or travel to company and customer locations all over the world.  A more robust air service in the area is great for our community!” explains Tom Tranter, President of Corning Enterprises.
